ABOUT the OWNERS

 

The owners of Serendipity Learning Center, Steve and Karla Carta, have been residents of Seminole County for over fifteen years and were both raised in Central Florida.

 

Karla is a graduate of The University of Central Florida. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders, is certified in Exceptional Education, and holds a Florida’s Advanced Director’s Credential with a VPK Endorsement. She has worked with children for over 30 years in the areas of child care, Speech and Language, Exceptional Education, Sign Language, Early Intervention and most recently served as the Director of a major national pre-school franchise from May of 2012 - 2015.  Steve’s background is a Jack of All Trades. He has owned and operated several businesses in his life ranging from Landscaping to Catering and eventually as a restaurateur. He has extensive training in pre-med and spent over 16 years in the medical field.

 

Karla had the dream of her own school from a very young age. After reconnecting with a high school classmate, Kevin Campbell, Pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church, Karla and Steve were able to bring her dream to life in a serendipitous way as she learned Pastor Kevin had a magnificent building available. The Carta’s have four grown children, a son in Middle school and 2 grandchildren.
